Also, a guitar is part of the ever popular band, and being part of a band will always be a dream for many young musicians. It epitomizes success and popularity.

The purpose of this site and my guitar lessons are to start you off playing guitar the correct way and to recommend the best teaching methods to you so you can achieve your dream of playing the guitar. It is easy to teach yourself guitar and in my opinion teaching yourself is the best way, but you must always have a lesson plan of some sort so you are always learning.

This is an overview of some of the important things you should start learning as a beginner guitarist.

One:

You need to be able to identify the parts of a guitar. The main parts are the neck and the body. The other parts are the head where the tuning parts are located; the fingerboard; the frets or the thin metal strips on the fingerboard; the nuts and tuning keys which are used to get the right note; strings, the bridge or endpoint of your guitar strings; the tailpiece and pickups. These are just the visible parts. In fact, a guitar can have as many as 200 parts working together to give the perfect sound.

Two:

You must also know what a chromatic scale is. This is the most fundamental Western musical scale, and you will need to know how to use the chromatic scale. This scale has 12 chromatic notes. To learn how to play the guitar, you should start by trying out 4-note combinations, using different frets. The reason you want to keep practicing the chromatic scale is because it will not only familiarize your fingers with the different positions, but it will also give them valuable strengthening exercises.

Three:

If you want to teach yourself to play guitar, you should begin by learning how to tune a guitar. This means developing your ear to recognize the right pitch or being able to compare pitches.

Four:

Guitar lessons for beginners should also include mastering some easy guitar chords such as the C major, G major, and the D major chords. If you have been able to master these first three chords, then try out other chords like the E minor chord and the D minor chord. You should also start becoming familiar with strumming and plucking the guitar strings.

Five:

Start learning many kinds of scales. At this point, teaching yourself to play guitar means better finger coordination, and the best way to achieve this is by doing scales. It may be boring, but there is a purpose to these exercises that make absolute sense once you have mastered the scales. To generate some excitement in your practice sessions, try playing the scales backwards. Take your time and never rush through the scales. The purpose here is to make sure every note is heard clearly.

Six:

If you want to learn how to play the guitar, you should also start to call the guitar strings by their standard names. Each guitar string is assigned a letter (depending on what it is tuned to), just as every guitar note is also given a letter. This is important because when you are reading guitar sheets, you will see letters instead of notes. In some guitar books, it simply puts the letters on top of the words, with no other guide.

The strings are assigned letters are E, A, D,G,B, and e, in standard tuning. The strings are organized according to thickness here, with E being the thickest string, e being the thinnest.
